Corpus Christi meets HRH Prince William

HRH PW 2On Wednesday 16th July 2014, HRH Prince William, The Duke of Cambridge came to visit the  War Memorial Park.

He was a guest of the Fields in Trust to dedicate the park as part of the Centenary Fields programme - a new project from Fields In Trust (FIT) in partnership with The Royal British Legion and Poppy Scotland, which will run between 2014 and 2018.

The programme aims to safeguard, in perpetuity, war memorial parks, playing fields and other significant green spaces in the UK, marking the sacrifice made by those who lost their lives in the First World War.
We are delighted that our park has been chosen as the first to be dedicated as a Field in Trust, and so on that note, Mrs Flynn and Miss Sexton took three of our Corpus Christi School Ambassadors along to represent Corpus Christi, in the hope that they might get close enough to HRH.
They did better than that…they had a chat with him and shook hands!  He joked with them asking if they were following him, as he had previously spotted them at the start of his walk through the park.  How lucky were they to meet their future king?!
